Who I am
Starnala is the trading name (nom commercial) of Elżbieta Dubois, registered in France as a sole trader (entreprise individuelle) under SIREN 398 618 975, at Le Mathis, 204 avenue de Colmar, 67100 Strasbourg. I provide SEO and content strategy services, including multilingual and international SEO, content strategy and execution, content optimisation, and localisation. For the personal data collected through this website and in the course of my work with clients, I am the data controller. You can reach me about anything in this policy at info@starnala.com.
What data I collect
If you contact me through the form on this website, I collect your first name, last name, email address, a short description of what you are working on, and the content of your message. If you contact me by email or telephone instead, I collect the personal data you choose to give me, typically your name, contact details and information about your project.
If we work together, I also collect the information needed to issue quotes and invoices: your name or your company’s name, postal address, email address and, where relevant, VAT number.
If you book a call with me, scheduling is handled by Calendly on Calendly’s own pages, under Calendly’s privacy policy. I receive the details you enter there: your name, email address and the appointment information.
This website also uses Google Analytics 4 to collect statistics about how visitors use the site. These statistics cookies are only set if you consent to them through the cookie banner (see Cookies below).
I do not collect sensitive information such as data about your health, or your religious or political views, unless it appears in material you send me in the course of a project.
If you agree to provide a testimonial, I publish your name and job title on this website with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time and I will remove it.
What I do with your data
I use your data to reply to your enquiry, to prepare quotes, to deliver the services you have requested, and to invoice for them. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract with you, or the steps taken at your request before entering into one.
I also keep invoicing records to comply with French tax and accounting law. The legal basis for this is my legal obligation as a registered business in France.
If you have been in contact with me about my services, I may occasionally email you about additional or new services I offer. You can opt out of these emails at any time by replying or by writing to info@starnala.com, and I will stop contacting you for this purpose. I do not share your data with anyone for marketing purposes.
Who else has access to your data
All personal data is processed directly by me. The third parties that could have access to it are my website, server and email providers, all of which are secure and GDPR-compliant.
Some projects involve people I bring in to work alongside me. Where that happens, I remove identifiable personal data from the material before sharing it wherever the work allows, and I have a written confidentiality and data-processing agreement in place with anyone who works with me in this way.
I do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own use.
Data transferred outside the EU
Some of the services I use belong to groups established outside the European Union, or may process data outside it: Google (Google Workspace and Google Analytics 4) and Calendly. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU, the transfer takes place under the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or, where that does not apply, under standard contractual clauses.
How I keep your data secure
This website is hosted on a secure server. The devices I use to process your data are accessible only to me and are password-protected, and backups are kept in password-protected, encrypted storage. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, I will inform you and the CNIL within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
How long I keep your data
Under French law, I must keep invoicing and accounting records – which include your basic personal data – for 10 years. After this period, they are destroyed.
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted three years after our last contact.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. This website uses Complianz to manage cookie consent. Functional cookies, which are needed for the site to work, are always active. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are only set if you accept them, and you can withdraw or change your consent at any time through the cookie banner.
This website contains links to other websites, including Calendly and LinkedIn. This privacy policy applies only to starnala.com, so if you follow a link to another website, you should read their privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You can contact me at any time at info@starnala.com to exercise any of these rights, and I will respond within one month.
If you believe I have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés), at www.cnil.fr.
Changes to this policy
I keep this privacy policy under review and publish any updates on this page.
This privacy policy was drawn up in August 2026.
